There are some women who you acknowledge look good, and then there are those that look so amazing that it is almost sickening. 

However, rather than cast envious glances in their direction, you should take a leaf out of their books and, while you might not be able to stretch your finances to aspirational designer brands and luxury items, you can still add more than a touch of glamour to your appearance.

We looked at the top 10 best-dressed female celebrities from around the world.

1. Victoria Beckham

Love her or hate her – and there are plenty of people in both camps – it is difficult to argue against how amazing she looks, and not just when she has her hubby on her arm, either. Wear big sunglasses, learn to pout, and you are halfway to the look already!

Not content with just one polarising celebrity, we move to the star of the Twilight films, which are either teenage drivel or cinematic genius depending on the camp you are in. Whatever your opinion, there is no denying that Stewart looks amazing.

This will probably be a controversial choice, but while you may not like certain elements of her style, she turns heads wherever she goes and gains admiring glances the world over, even when heavily pregnant, so she must be doing something right.

Musicians And Sunglasses With Style

Since the early days of rock and roll, musicians have been sporting sunglasses. Most of them not only wear sunglasses, at that, but have a special style that they usually wear. This style becomes part of their image. Can you imagine John Lennon without his serious round frames? His oval regular specs were complemented by glossy black sunglasses that made him look enigmatic and unapproachably hip. These sunglasses fed into his counterculture artist image, and people still wear similar glasses and sunglasses today. If you identify with the counterculture or a kind of remote, cool creativity or just like the Beatles, you might be more likely to adopt those dark, round sunglasses.

John Lennon is of course far from the only artist who incorporated sunglasses into a personal image, and far from the only artist who made a certain kind of sunglasses iconic. You have Elvis Presley with his amber-lensed aviator sunglasses, now favorites of Elvis impersonators everywhere. Michael Jackson also wore aviator sunglasses, usually with opaque dark lenses. It might be that the size of the glasses makes it look all the cooler when you lower them to glance over the frames. Elvis sure knew how to glance.

Elton John’s sunglasses are almost more distinctive for their color than . . . no, okay, never mind. The rose and purple lenses are certainly memorable and unique, but Elton John’s youthful progression of crazy frames were madly unique as well. He sported star-shaped frames and filigreed gold frames and frames that were essentially undefinable. Elton John’s frames tend a little more subdued now, but not always. His eccentric and unpredictable eyewear reflects his irrepressible pop style. If his exact sunglasses are harder to mimic, an Elton John fan might still go for an off-beat set of frames with brightly colored glass.

Lady Gaga also goes for the weird, sporting massive sunglasses that almost span half her face, often using bizarre, thick frames as well.

Stevie Wonder occasionally wears wild glasses, but tends to sport broad, squarish sunglasses with dark lenses and frames. His sunglasses look both unpretentious and fun. They’re a solid pair of frames for a pianist and rock star with a lot of energy, and accentuate Stevie Wonder’s playful approach to song writing and performing. Like Ray Charles, who also sported cool, dark, squarish frames, Stevie Wonder uses sunglasses as a statement, past their functional use for his blindness.

Those are just a few of the musicians who have made sunglasses part of their icon. The sun might not have fully put its hat on in 2011 yet but that has not stopped the A List from showcasing the sunglasses trends that were hot on the catwalk earlier on in the year. Universally flattering, oversized, butterfly shaped sunnies have donned the faces of many famous individuals recently including pop starlet Rihanna, socialite Kim Kardashian, actress Nicole Ritchie and heiress Paris Hilton. Although the Prada PR18IS (with an RRP of £140) version of these glasses have proved popular with many ladies of high social stature, the rest of us will probably have to wait for discount fashion stores such as the infamous Primark to catch up with the trend once the summer season sets in!

Rounded, oversized sunglasses have also recently been favoured by the likes of ex-Spice Girl Posh, Disney sweetheart Miley Cyrus and British models Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, that latter of which has been chosen as the face of Dolce and Gabbana’s latest shades collection. Appropriately named Animalier, the collection integrates many animal prints into the oversized eyewear movement. Floral printed sunnies are a little “last year” but still favourable with the rich and famous – actress Jessica Alba was recently snapped with a set perched upon her nose.

Large, stripy eye protection meanwhile has also proved a hit, with the fashionably eccentric Marina Diamandis (of the band Marina and the Diamonds) pulling the look off exceptionally well in London recently with her circular, Lennon-esque white a red striped pair (though she has also owns an identical pair in turquoise blue). Hopefully we will see more celebrities experimenting with brightly coloured shades in the wake of this fashion success!

Cat eye glasses – which are wider at the top than they are at the bottom – have been a recent favourite of actress Scarlett Johannson and pop tarts Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. Miu Miu’s retro eyewear collection was also well received when it was revealed on the runways of Paris Fashion Week just seven days ago.

Whatever style of sunglasses you decided to choose, be sure to remember one thing; this year, sunglasses are a key accessory to have fun with! If you are usually too much of a wallflower to don extravagant lenses, then a festival is the perfect time to let go of your fashion inhibitions! The Weirdest Dresses Popstars Love

I'm endlessly interested in people who choose their clothes with a mind to making them as in your face as possible. I guess the wilder your wardrobe, the more likely it is that you'll stick in people's minds - that's what the world's popstars seem to think anyway.

As much as I want people to think I look nice, I have to say that most of the time I dress to please myself rather than everyone else. That means nice skinny jeans with a bit of stretch, soft swishy dresses that don't cinch in too much at the waist and the occasional cute t-shirt. Obviously, I want to look good for work too, and there's nothing quite like getting dolled up for a night out, but I'm definitely all about cloths being right for me and less bothered about how much of a lasting impression they make on other people.

That said, I'm endlessly interested in people who choose their clothes with a mind to making them as in your face as possible. I guess the wilder your wardrobe, the more likely it is that you'll stick in people's minds - that's what the world's popstars seem to think anyway.

When I think about weird dresses, there's one that ALWAYS springs to mind first, and that's the crazy swan get up Bjork wore on the Oscars red carpet back in 2001. It was a pretty crazy looking dress, and a bit more like a fancy dress costume than a evening gown, but it got her talked about plenty - and I think there's something appealing about it, in a kooky kind of way.

Then there's Madonna, she's worn some pretty interesting ensembles over the years, from her 80s spatkly legwarms and crucifixes to the zips and corsets of the last few years. The get up she wore to a gala at the MoMA in 2009 may not be the weirdest dress she's been in, but the fact she's in her 50s now and still wearing that kind of stuff earn her my respect.

And that brings me along nicely to Cher, whose crazy dresses and catsuits have entertained me greatly over the years. She's another performer who is all about reinventing herself, so I guess it's only inevitable that some of her dresses might get a little, well, weird from time to time.

But it's not just the older stars who can be a little eccentric when it comes to their dresses, just think about Katy Perry and the firework dress she wore for a Victoria Secrets show. However, when we're talking weird, there are few people who can hold a candle to Lady Gaga right now. A dress made out of raw meat? That's dedication to the cause. What cause exactly, I'm not sure, but it definitely tops my list of weird dresses.

These sassy female popstars may have reminded be it is possible to be as weird and wonderful as you want when it comes to your clothes. But I think I'll stick with my own collection of dresses, I don't have legions of fans to please or newspapers to shock after all!
