The Real 'Jerry Maguire' Leigh Steinberg Seeks To Make His Way Back From Alcoholism

Tom Cruise was the star of the major hit film Jerry Maguire that was released in 1998. The movie also served as the launching pad for the career of then unknown actress Renee Zellweger, who played the love interest. Jerry Maguire was about the life of a sports agent who has a nervous breakdown and seeks to rebuild his life by exposing the dishonesty in his business. It’s based on the life story of real life sports agent Leigh Steinberg. While the film has a happy ending, in real life finding a happy ending is not always so easy. Recently, Leigh Steinberg has revealed that he has struggled greatly with an alcohol addiction.
Alcoholism Can Affect Anyone
Leigh Steinberg was considered a “Super Agent,” a sports agent who dealt with millions of dollars and high-profile people. But even he struggled with alcoholism throughout his life. Alcohol addiction is a great equalizer, in that it is a disease that people across all economic groups and age ranges suffer from. At his peak, Leah Steinberg’s clientele offered a veritable who’s who of sport stars, such as:
Steinberg reportedly made over 100 million dollars in his storied career, which surely seems enough to have been enough money for anyone to live on. But a decade later, Steinberg was broke, divorced, and a hardcore alcoholic.
Giving Up
What characterized Leigh Steinberg’s severe state of alcoholism was completely giving up on everything in his life, and spending hours drinking. Recently divorced, he would spend countless hours drinking, even being arrested for public drunkenness and floated through different rehab centers in fruitless attempts to recover his sobriety. He was also millions of dollars in debt, owing back rent, and money to a laundry list of people, including the IRS. People who are severe alcoholics are known for disappearing days at a time, usually to feed their addiction without anyone to stop them. This is often because the alcoholic is trying to escape from the realities of a life that he finds unbearable to face on a daily basis.
Seeking Sobriety
To Leigh Steinberg’s credit he says that after hitting the lowest point in his life personally, professionally, and financially, he has achieved sobriety for two years. He found success by attending a sober living program, and has focused solely on becoming sober. This was a tremendous achievement in itself, and once again shows how sobriety can be achieved when an individual is dedicated to a program of care for recovery.
Hopefully now, Leigh Steinberg can focus on pulling the rest of his life together. He wants to start a career comeback, which means becoming certified again as a sports agent, which he had allowed to lapse. This also means starting to pay back the debts he has accrued to various people. And most of all it means trying to re-connect with his children again. He has already overcome a giant hurdle in reclaiming his sobriety, after finding a treatment program that worked for him.

Michael J Fox Opens Up About Alcoholism

And other celebrities who have battled alcoholism and made it through.

The 50 year old star admits he’s had his struggles in the last few decades. He says when first discovered he had Parkinson’s disease in 1990, he didn’t know how to cope. His immediate response was to drink heavily - he had always been a drinker but things began to get worse. Fox began abusing alcohol as a substance that could numb the feelings of fear and confusion that came from knowing he had Parkinson’s disease.

The day came when Fox knew his drinking had gone out of control. With the support of his wife and family, Fox was able to quit drinking and has remained sober ever since. His career has continued on over the decades, with film roles and a new television series in 2013. Fox’s activism for Parkinson’s Disease awareness is another important aspect of his career.

Other celebrities have spoken publicly about their struggles with alcohol abuse in hopes that their stories will help inspire others to choose recovery. Here are a few celebs who have battled and ultimately won the struggle with alcoholism and addiction. Hopefully their tales can prove to be an inspiration to people who are currently struggling with addiction.

1. Elton John

The British singer began abusing drugs and alcohol early in his career to deal with emotional issues and feelings of insecurity. For a long time, he kept his struggle hidden from everyone except those who were closest to the singer. When the addiction began taking its toll, John went into treatment and has been sober ever since. He has drawn from his struggles to help other celebrities, like fellow British singer Robbie Williams and even rapper Eminem, overcome their alcoholism.

2. Anthony Hopkins

The celebrated British actor also had a drinking problem early in his career. His wake up call finally came after finding himself confused and alone in an unknown location after a night of particularly heavy drinking. Drinking had also caused Hopkins to isolate himself from the friends and family who cared about him. The actor admits that it was a 12 step program that helped him stop drinking and put his life and relationships back together.

3. Steven Tyler

The Aerosmith lead singer says that his battle with alcoholism lasted for decades and had its ups and downs. He admits that it was the rock star image that first made him want to take up a lifestyle of heavy drinking. Tyler thought that in order to be a proper rock star, one had to smoke and drink heavily. Today he’s sober and still able to do the rock star thing.

4. Eminem

The Detroit rapper’s alcoholism began with the use of prescription drugs. He would often combine the two to achieve a more intense high. Soon enough, he found himself addicted to both alcohol and pills and things began to spiral out of control. With the help of fellow entertainer Elton John, Eminem was able to kick his habit and stay drug and alcohol free.

John Lloyd is a recovery specialist and works helping people addicted to drugs and alcohol, learn more about the work he does for Seasons Malibu an addiction treatment center.

Just like her music, Pink’s style is very much out there and really shows that she doesn’t care what you think. She is still good at showing a softer and more feminine side and is a good role model for all women out there.

Obsessed Celebrities: How Much Surgery Is Too Much?

Plastic Surgery & Body Dysmorphic Disorder

There are some stars that just never seem to age. Then again, there are other stars whose appearances begin to look stranger, rather than younger. They may be suffering from a condition called "Body Dysmorphic Disorder," or BDD, which means “ugly body syndrome.” About 1 percent of the population in the U.S. has this disorder.

No matter now minor a perceived imperfection, the body dysmorphic insists that they are seriously defective because of it. These stars, seen by the public as the ultimate in beauty, are utterly convinced they are horribly ugly.

A recent study in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery found a 33 percent incidence of BDD in patients who ask for nose jobs. Legitimate plastic surgeons refuse any patient they feel may have this disorder, leaving the patient to find surgeons or others who are not so careful.

BDD can even become deadly. It can lead persons, mostly women, to think that they are obese, although they are not. They may diet so severely and for so long that they may literally starve to death.

The stars who underwent multiple plastic surgeries looked good before the surgeries. Most would agree that the plastic surgeries made their appearances worse. The following is a list of some of those celebrities.

Pete Burns

Pete Burns is a British singer who, when he was younger in the early 80s, performed as the front-man for “Dead or Alive.” Burns’ experiments on his own face included hundreds procedures involving plastic surgery, permanent makeup, tattoos, injections, fillers and tissue reconstruction. He is now completely unrecognizable after 20 years of plastic surgery.

Although he is an extreme case, celebrities like Janice Dickinson, Melanie Griffith, Barry Manilow, Bruce Jenner, Joan Rivers and Carrot Top are among dozens of other celebrities who have had too much plastic surgery.

Jocelyn Wildenstein

Jocelyn Wildenstein was nicknamed by the press “The Bride of Wildenstein,” a reference to the Bride of Frankenstein. She has currently spent more than $4 million on various plastic surgeries trying to look like a lioness. She said she had the surgeries to please her husband who liked big cats.

She and her husband had a bitter divorce after a long marriage. Wildenstein received $2.5 billion in the settlement, but the judge stipulated that she could not use the money for any plastic surgeries or other related procedures.

Hang Mioku

Hang Mioku, a 48-year-old woman from South Korea, is also a BDD chasing perfection. A model and up-and-coming singer, she became obsessed with silicone injections. Her procedures have turned out disastrously. Mioku even went as far as injecting cooking oil into her own face.

Korean TV told Hang’s story and viewers donated the cost of corrective surgery. It took 10 operations to remove 60 grams of silicone, cooking oil and other substances from her face. The surgeons removed another 200 grams from her neck. Her face is more appropriate for her tiny body now, but she is still scarred for life.

Silicone injections are dangerous, but many people take the danger so lightly that they throw silicone injection parties in their homes. The attendees then have the silicone injected, sometimes by untrained persons, into their faces, necks, buttocks or other body parts. The cost is low, so people who cannot afford plastic surgery often pursue this method.

The best defense for these people are the legitimate surgeons who refuse the surgeries and law enforcement to arrest the unqualified.

3 Celebrities That Almost Died Through Their Love Of Extreme Sports

If you were a celebrity you would likely want to do whatever you could to keep your name out there right? Well why do you think this is? Well celebrities know that if they are not doing whatever they can to keep their name out there it is going to be tough for them to remain relevant. Celebrities have to do what it takes to create some kind of buzz about themselves.

One way they do this is by taking part in extreme sports. Now some celebrities genuinely love extreme sports, to the point where it has almost cost them their lives. Why would some celebrities engage in such risky behavior when it seems like they have everything anyone could ever want?

  • Celebrities might get bored with the life they have because they know anything they want they can have. This means it is hard for them to experience any real sense of accomplishment. If they are making lots of money through movies or music, then it is tough for them to aim higher because they might feel they have already reached their ceiling. Extreme sports gives them the chance to experience a feeling few others do.
  • Celebrities who take part in extreme sports might do so because it becomes easy for them get bored with regular sports, plus they might not be good at regular sports and this is something they do not like. Extreme sports are usually sports a person can take part in with very few people and most often alone. There are celebrities that relish this and might even see it as a way to push themselves to become better in other areas of their lives.
  • Celebrities who take part in extreme sports might suffer from depression at times and these sports give them the chance to deal with the problem. These types of sports can be great stress relievers, plus when they are done on a regular basis the might help to make a person less vulnerable to bouts of depression or even anxiety. This is beneficial when you are a celebrity, because celebrities are constantly at risk for these issues.
  • Celebrities who take part in extreme sports to the  point where they are willing to risk their lives might do so as a way to prepare for a movie or simply get over whatever fears they might have that are holding them back. Think about it, if you were nervous about something or you had to take on a certain role then taking part in extreme sports would numb you to the demands placed on you by these things.

With all of this being the case, celebrities taking part in extreme sports and risking their lives is not going to stop because other celebrities hear of near death experiences. Here are 3 celebrities who have had close run ins with death because of their love of extreme sports and stunts.

Jackie Chan

How many of you have heard of Jackie Chan? Chances are most of us. He is almost as well known as Bruce lee, but for different reasons. Jackie Chan is known most for the daring stunts he performs in a lot of his movies. This is what he hangs is hat on is the fact that he never used a stunt double. In one movie he took part in an extreme sport stunt in 1991. The name of the movie was called Armour of God 11: Operation Condor. He starred and helped direct this movie.

The stunt he performed in this movie became known as Zorbing and it is really popular now. He was the first to do it. The fact is Jackie Chan has almost been killed several times from performing extreme stunts and other high risk maneuvers. The only reason he has been able to escape with his life is because he is very good at what he does and he knows how to keep risk to a minimum.

Jack Osborne

Jack Osborne is hard to not notice when you see him on television. He is the chubby kid who looks adopted when you see him with his family. He has certainly come a long way from what a lot of remember from seeing him on the Osbornes. In any case, Jack loves all things extreme sports. He once took a trip to Africa where he took part in a bungee jump and a white water rafting adventure. He also likes to do rock climbing.

Jack is considered to be a quintessential adrenaline junkie who just cannot seem to get enough. Other extreme sports he has done would include a 100' free dive, sky diving, leaping off of ocean ledges, surfing in some of the roughest parts of Hawaii, running with the bulls in Pamploma, taking Muay Thai training in Thailand, ran in a 150 mile marathon, which took place in the Sahara desert, went through a tough jungle expedition in Central America and has even done hard core combat training in India.

Jack has never never really been injured to the point where his life is on the line, but he has been seriously hurt several times. Is this enough to make his stop? No way.

Richard Branson

If you know anything about Richard Branson then you know he is one of the most extreme sports enthusiasts in the world. We have seen some of the things he is willing to do on television. He is probably more known for his love of extreme sports more then his business success. One of the reasons why he does so many extreme sports and stunts is to sometimes create appeal for some of the products he he trying to market.

Even with this being the case he truly enjoys extreme sports and he does them on his personal time. Some of the things he does would include skydiving, rappelling down skyscrapers, and even kite surfing through some of the largest waves around the world. He has even tried to break a few world records on many occasions. Has he almost died because of the stunts and extreme sports he does, yes. But doing them is part of his identity and his brand overall. He has no plans to stop.

Even though these celebrities might have almost died because of their love of extreme sports, do you believe this is going to make them stop taking part in them. The answer is a resounding no. Celebrities that take part in these types of sports feel the risk is worth it and when they have the ability to have whatever they want it is just too easy to get bored. Maybe they might be a little bit safer in the future, but not to the point where they take away the thrill they get when they are engaged in extreme sports.

The 6 Most Popular Jewish Celebs

The menorah, yamaka and Star of David are some of the most recognizable signs of Judaism. While those signs are easy to spot in any setting, not everyone who's part of the Jewish faith realizes that one of their favorite celebs is as well.

To give you an idea of some of the big names that share your faith, here are six of the most popular Jewish celebs:

Natalie Portman

In the 2005 book Stars of David, Natalie Portman was one of several dozen notable public personalities who openly discussed her thoughts on Judaism and the role it's played throughout her life. While her husband has not converted to Judaism, she has stated on multiple occasions that she plans to raise her kids within the Jewish faith.

Adam Sandler

Recently, Sandler has had a few stumbles at the box office. But with the upcoming release of Grown Ups 2, it looks like he will be returning to the top. And even though a few of his latest movies haven't fared well at the box office, the fact that he has a lifetime box office gross of over $2 billion means he will continue to receive plenty of support from studios for his movies. In addition to his box office power, one of the reasons he's on this list is thanks to his classic The Chanukah Song, complete with a reference to putting on a yamaka.

Daniel Radcliffe

Many people are actually surprised to learn that Radcliffe is Jewish. Not only are many people surprised by that fact, but it can also be hard to believe that a 23 year old who's parents were a literary and casting agent already has a reported net worth of $80 million.

Dustin Hoffman

Since he used to be discreet about his faith, you probably won't find a picture online of Dustin Hoffman wearing a yamaka. Fortunately, thanks to the continued success he's enjoyed, he's now comfortable talking about his faith in public interviews.

Woody Allen

Since the beginning of his career all the way back in 1950, Judaism has played a role in Allen's comedy. With over forty films under his belt, Allen has enjoyed a career that most actors, directors and writers could only dream of. What's truly impressive is at the age of 75, he got to enjoy the best box office performance of his career thanks to Midnight in Paris.

James Franco

Of every celeb on this list, James Franco may be the most polarizing. The reason is while some people love his easygoing sense of humor and the fact that he always seems to be juggling a dozen different projects a time, other people can't stand anything about his brand of humor. Even though he's probably aware of the large number of detractors he has, judging by his performance in This is the End, it doesn't appear that he's ever going to let their negativity get under his skin.

If you were worried that the Jewish faith was underrepresented in the celebrity world, now you know that there are plenty of very successful celebs who identify with Judaism.

Don Schlossberg is an orthodox jewish rabbi, avid writer and published poet. In his spare time he can be found spending time in the great outdoors with his family and living a kosher lifestyle.

5 Celebrities Who Studied Nursing

Tina Turner

Nurses are often the heroes behind the scenes in hospitals and other health care facilities. Physicians get the lion's share of the credit for making patients healthy again while nurses do the lion's share of the work!

A surprising number of nurses, however, have made the move to show business professions where they can command a greater share of attention. Here are five celebrities who were once nurses or at least attended nursing school before they became famous doing something else.

Naomi Judd

Naomi Judd's resolve to enter the healing professions was made when her brother Brian died of Hodgkin's Disease at age 17. Brian's death sent the Judd family reeling and eventually tore it apart. Naomi married at age 17, but divorced shortly thereafter. Nursing, she decided, would supply an ideal means of supporting herself and her two young daughters until she was able to break into show business.

Naomi graduated from the College of Marin's nursing program in 1977, and worked both as a midwife and as an Intensive Care Unit nurse before launching a musical career with songstress daughter Winona as part of the highly successful singing duo the Judds.

Tina Turner

At sixteen, Tina Turner was working as a nursing assistant in the maternity ward of the Barnes-Jewish Hospital when she met Ike Turner in a St. Louis nightclub one night. Anna Mae Bullock, as Tina was known then, had every intention of pursuing a career in nursing. Ike saw her potential and stage presence and convinced her to give professional singing a shot instead.

Jenny McCarthy

Sex symbol Jenny McCarthy was enrolled as a nursing student at Carbondale's Southern Illinois University in 1993 when she was approached by a photographer to pose for Playboy Magazine. Her initial photo shoot was so successful that a year later the magazine chose her to become Playmate of the Year.

Although McCarthy did not pursue a career in the healing professions, she remains active in health campaigns, particularly those dealing with biomedical treatments for autism.

Kate Gosselin

Reality TV star Kate Gosselin graduated from a nursing diploma program affiliated with Pennsylvania's Reading Hospital and Medical Center. She continued working at Reading Hospital until 2004.

Ironically enough, Kate worked in the labor and delivery unit. In 2004, she gave birth to sextuplets, born at 30 weeks gestation. The following year, Kate, husband Jon and their brood, which also included a pair of twin girls born in 2000, were featured in a Discover Channel special entitled " Surviving Sextuplets and Twins." Two years later, the family became the stars of their own reality TV series, "Jon & Kate Plus 8," which ran until 2009.

After the show was dropped by TLC, there was some speculation that Kate would return to her former nursing career. This failed to materialize, however.

LuAnn de Lesseps

Countess LuAnn de Lesseps is best known as a personality on Bravo's reality TV series "The Real Housewives of New York." Growing up as a mere commoner in a small Connecticut town, however, the practical-minded LuAnn thought that nursing would be her ticket out.

LuAnn worked as a licensed practical nurse before her rangy good looks won her a spot with the Wilhelmina modeling agency. She continued working part time as a nurse until she was well established in her modeling career. Her particular specialty was geriatric nursing.

The countess credits the people skills she learned as a nurse with making her a better entertainer. She kept her license current longer than most other celebrities who were time nurses once upon a time. LuAnn de Lesseps' nursing license expired in April 2009.

Best Celebrity Plastic Surgery

It’s hard to pinpoint which celebrities have had the best plastic surgery, because by ‘good’ we usually mean subtle and natural-looking. Add to that the fact that stars are notoriously tight-lipped about cosmetic enhancements and a lot of it becomes speculation and guess work. The following stars, whether they have admitted to a little nip and tuck or not, are generally believed to have undergone cosmetic work of some kind.

So who do we think fared best? Here’s our top 5:

1. Jennifer Aniston

Judging by photos taken before this Friends actress became a global superstar, it’s quite clear to see that she had a nose job quite early on in her career. She’s also thought to have had a more recent, subtle rhinoplasty. As well as these structural changes to her face, it’s also believed she regularly uses Botox and fillers - and some have even speculated she may have had a mini facelift.

But it isn't obvious by looking at her. She doesn't have a face that screams 'surgically enhanced'. She simply looks like someone much younger than she is and blessed with great genes.

2. Megan Fox

Although she denies having had work done, before and after photos of the pretty actress show a different story. Her nose looks as if it’s been trimmed and her cheekbones are far more defined than they used to be. Even allowing for age and possible weight-loss there are signs that she’s had subtle surgery. She was very attractive beforehand but is now regularly touted as the world’s sexiest woman.

3. Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez is a stunning woman, but is it all natural? She’s one star who seems to have got better with age, and older photos indicate a nose job may be partly responsible.  Given her apparent lack of ageing she may also have undergone procedures to help time stand still. No doubt her appearance can also be put down to better make-up, lighting and expensive products.

4. Blake Lively

Blake is another actress who took apparent steps to cultivate her appearance before making it big. She has purportedly undergone subtle rhinoplasty, as well as a boob job. Breast augmentation can look the most obvious of procedures but only going up one or two cup sizes, as seems to be the case with Blake, results in a far more natural look.

UK Plastic Surgeon Adrian Richards comments:

“Implants will tend to look better if the size is best suited to the person’s frame and natural breast size. By sticking to her proportions Blake’s breasts look more in line with the rest of her physique which is why her breast augmentation could be said to be successful.”

5. Ellen de Generes

Ellen is a powerful media figure who probably has better things to do than fret over her appearance. She is also on TV, however, and so her alleged recent steps to freshen up her appearance are a great example of surgery for a middle-aged woman. She looks to have opted for a mini facelift and eyelid surgery, but the effect is a soft one – her skin has not been pulled taut but some of her lines have been diminished and her skin looks brighter.

1) David Copperfield

The world’s most successful illusionist – or, as some people like to call him, Claudia Schiffer’s ex-boyfriend – is definitely high up there on the list of celebrities with the island bug. Copperfield owns not one, not two, not three, but a whole four breathtakingly beautiful islands in the Bahamas, which are valued around a whopping $50 million. Previously called Musha Cay, the down-to-earth magician renamed his islands to Copperfield Bay.  However, only one of them is actually developed whereas the other three are used as buffers in order to ensure a maximum of privacy for himself and his guests. On the main island you will find ‘Dave’s Drive-in’, an outdoor movie theatre, and several luxurious properties decorated with treasures which Copperfield collected during his travels all over the world.

2) Captain Jack Sparrow

The all-time favourite and eco-friendly pirate of the Caribbean would have us believe he actually goes under the name of Johnny Depp, but if I’m not mistaken that was one of his movie characters. Sparrow has found his very own tropical getaway in the Bahamas in 2004, when he purchased Little Hall’s Pond Cay for $3.6 million. The 45-acre island is part of the stunning Exumas, and runs solely on solar power. The actor named its six white sand beaches after his two children, his former partner Vanessa Paradis, and the remaining three in memory of his deceased friends Marlon Brando, Heath Ledger and Hunter S. Thompson.

3) Lenny Kravitz

Lenny Kravitz has Russian, Ukrainian and Bahamian roots. So when the musician decided to explore his heritage he purchased an island within the little-visited islands of Eleutheta in the Bahamas. Not much information is known about his private oasis, but let’s just say there is a reason why he fell for the astonishing beauty and lifestyle of the Bahamas instead of Ukraine or Russia.

4) Eddie Murphy

When you have been in the showbiz for about 150 years, starred in 15 Shrek movies, and happen to be one of the highest paid actors, then it is only natural you’d want to own your private palm-fringed island. The notoriously funny actor bought his unspoiled paradise in the Bahamas in 2007 for $15 million, after he had previously owned another small isle next to Paradise Island. His latest acquisition is called Rooster Cay and is conveniently located next to Nassau, the capital island. This has given rise to speculations as to whether Murphy is planning to develop a resort – which appears to be a trend amongst celebrity island owners as well – or keep it as a private retreat for himself.

5) Faith Hill & Tim McGraw

The two country stars have recently joined the club of island owners when they bought Goat Cay in the Bahamas for about $3.5 million. Located in the centre of the popular Exumas archipelago the musicians find themselves in good company as they are pretty much direct neighbours to David Copperfield and Johnny Depp. Goat Cay is a 17-acre piece of paradise surrounded by white sand beaches home to the couple’s 15,000 square feet vacation home.

5 Best Comic Entertainers Who Battled Addiction

Untitled

It's often said that most comedians have a dark side, and often some of the best comedy treads a fine line between humor and pathos. Many of our finest comedians have struggled with alcohol and drug addictions, shielding themselves from pain with a combination of humor and substance abuse. Below are five of the best comics who were also addicts.

Lenny Bruce

Lenny Bruce shook up the 1950s and early 1960s with comedy that deal with previously taboo subjects like religion, sex and politics to a degree that had never been done before. Unfortunately, he struggled with addiction throughout his career and was found dead in his home in 1966 from a morphine overdose.

Why He Was One of the Best: Bruce was a groundbreaking comic by any estimation due not only to the subject of his comedy but his landmark obscenity trial. It was widely protested by a number of artists, and his conviction was overturned after his death.

John Belushi

As part of the original cast of "Saturday Night Live" and iconic for his work in films like "The Blues Brothers" and "Animal House," Belushi was a beloved comic whose talent was overshadowed by his addiction. He died at the age of 33 in 1982 from an overdose of of heroin and cocaine.

Why He Was One of the Best: Belushi's film work, his work with Second City in Chicago and his "Saturday Night Live" appearances all solidified him as one of the greatest American comics.

Richard Pryor

Pryor was a stand-up comedian whose boldness in dealing with racial issues was unprecedented. He was in a number of popular films and co-wrote the Mel Brooks-directed "Blazing Saddles." He struggled with addiction, however, including a famous incident in which he was found running down the street on fire near his home in a drug-induced psychosis.

Why He Was One of the Best: Many of his peers consider him one of the best or the best comedian of his time, and he changed the way comedians talked about race.

Sam Kinison

Kinison was known for his abrasiveness and a jarring scream dating from his days as a Pentecostal preacher, and in the 1980s and up until his death in a car accident in 1992, he appeared on a number of talk shows and was a regular on the radio with "The Howard Stern Show." His career was marked by struggles with addiction to drugs and alcohol.

Why He Was One of the Best: Kinison blended social satire and dark humor in his edgy, confrontational comedy that last to this day.

Mitch Hedburg

Hedburg's star rose higher after his death than it ever did while he was alive. His style was deadpan and absurd humor that was often observational. He made no secret of his drug use, sometimes mentioning it during comedy routines, and he died from an overdose of heroin and cocaine in 2005.

Why He Was One of the Best: Hedburg's comedy was smart and original and generates a fevered cult following to this day.

4 Celebrity Garages You Don't Want To Miss

If you are a celebrity or tech gadget know-it-all then you shouldn’t be surprised to find that Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Adam Carolla, John Travolta and Ralph Lauren top nearly every top five list of celebrity garages out there.  Not only are their garages massive, they are often technically strapped and custom built to house more cars, worth more money than the majority of us will see in our lifetimes.

Whether or not you are a car lover, these massive garages are more expensive than many homes and are quite a feat to behold. In fact, everything about them screams “I’m loaded!”  Let’s take a look and see what makes these garages so remarkable.

Jerry Seinfeld

You may not think that someone living in cramped New York City would have a noteworthy garage, but Jerry Seinfeld has managed to create a two story luxury suite for his Porsche collection.

Not only does this unique home for his cars have five parking spots, an industrial elevator and touch screen controls, he has also included an entire bachelor pad, complete with pool table, flat screens, and a full kitchen.

The best part is perhaps that it doesn’t look like anything special from outside and you may be hard pressed to find it, even if you know where to look in this packed city.

Ralph Lauren

Even though Jerry Seinfeld’s space is impressive, it doesn’t hold a candle to fashion mega-man Ralph Lauren’s three garages where he sorts his seventy rare sports cars by brand and color for convenience.

Organization is just the beginning though. This impressive car collection is valued as one of the most spectacular and expensive in the world, with some cars equaling between $30-$40 million dollars each.

Jay Leno

While Ralph Lauren’s garage is impressive, Jay Leno’s collection is one of the largest in the world. With everything from a 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish to a 1910 Stanley Steamer, this famous garage was featured in an award-winning web series.

His 17,000 sq-ft garage houses a machine shop and a team of mechanics to keep his 200 cars in perfect working order and, according to those who have seen this massive project, it is more of a museum than a garage.

John Travolta

Last but not least, no one has yet topped Grease’s leading bad boy, John Travolta.  His garage is located on the spot of an old Elephant sanctuary in Ocala, Florida and not only houses his 15 cars, but has a 1.4 mile landing strip for both his jumbo and private jets, which he uses just about as often as his regular car collection.  Why not? After all he is licensed to fly.

Whether you aspire to a lair big enough to house an entire fleet of vehicles or have a landing strip in your plans, it will be hard to beat the car gurus that have made their name in the garage world.

Top 5 Most Expensive Celebrity Cars

Nicholas Cage's Ferari Enzo makes one of the most awesome celebrity cars. Its value, over $670,000, places it at No.5 of our top 5 expensive celebrity cars. Jerry Seinfeld's Porshe 959 at $700,000 comes in fourth in the list. The Porshe is an incredible fast machine with a smart technology.
At a remarkable $1.7 million, Simon Cowell's blue Bugatti Veyron comes in third place. Birdman's $2.0 rated red Bugatti Veyron misses out on the first spot. It seems the rapper has a thing for the color red. Although the Bugatti isn't as expensive as his previous Exelero, it is equally as impressive. The red Bugatti has a 1001 Horse Power quad turbo charged W16, a super-car. Jay-Z's MayBach Exelero comes in first place. His $8.0 million rated Exelero is such an impressive car and takes first position on our celebrity's most expensive cars.

Moves Like Jagger

When your Dad is world famous rock star Mick Jagger, you’ve already had a great start in life. It’s therefore perhaps surprising that the Jagger offspring have all taken very different paths in life, and none have followed Dad into the music business. Mick has seven children, ranging in age from 42 to 14, with four different mothers, Marsha Hunt, Bianca Jagger, Jerry Hall and Luciana Morad.

Karis Jagger Hunt

Karis is Mick’s oldest child, and she was born in 1970 after her model mother, Marsha Hunt, had a relationship with the Rolling Stones star. Mick was not heavily involved during Karis’s childhood, but as she grew up they went on holiday together and started to build a relationship. Karis has never been interested in stardom. She did a degree in History and has worked as a teacher and a film production assistant in the USA.

Jade Jagger

After his relationship with Marsha ended, Mick married Bianca Macias, a Nicaraguan jet setter and political activist. Their only child, Jade, was born in 1971. Jade spent her childhood in London and New York, and lived with her mother after her parents divorced in 1978. She is heavily involved in the fashion industry and designs her own jewellery range. Her two daughters, Assisi and Amba are following in their mother’s footsteps and are often seen at fashion shows by Hugo Boss and other major fashion designers both in Europe and America.

Lizzie and Georgia Jagger

Mick’s two daughters from his marriage to supermodel Jerry Hall are Lizzie and Georgia, both of whom have enjoyed successful modelling careers in their own rights. Lizzie has modelled for Lancome and Victoria’s Secret, but the more successful sister is Georgia, who has inherited her mother’s blonde, supermodel looks and her father’s distinctive lips. She is the face of Rimmel London in print and television adverts, and has modelled on the catwalk and in magazines for high profile designers such as Louis Vuitton and Versace. She is still just 21, and has many long years ahead of her as a model. Lizzie and Georgia have a good relationship with Jade and her daughters, and they were all pictured together at the Hugo Boss watches and fashion show in London.

James and Gabriel Jagger

Mick’s two sons with Jerry Hall are far less famous than their sisters. Gabriel is 15 and still at school, so it remains to be seen if he is a star of the future. James is in a punk group called Turbogeist which has yet to set the charts on fire, and is said to be interested in getting into acting and films in the future. James has stated in the past that his surname is not an advantage when getting ahead in the film and music world.

Lucas Morad

Mick Jagger’s affair with Lucas’ mother was the final nail in the coffin for his marriage to Jerry Hall, but this hasn’t stopped Mick from spending time with his son, who lives in Brazil and London. Lucas has a striking resemblance to his father, and is another one to watch for the future.

Strangest Things People Insure

Have you ever loved something so much you just had to insure it? It could have been something small but you couldn’t bear the thought of losing it. A lot of celebrities and athletes have had the same thought. Strangely for them however, it sometimes includes themselves, or parts of themselves.

Merv Hughes, for example is a famous Australian cricketer known for his excellent handlebar moustache. It’s so great that it’s worth $370,000. That’s one expensive shave! People have also insured their faces. The supermodel Claudia Schiffer has a face worth 5 million dollars. Why wouldn’t you insure that?

You may not think it could get any stranger than that but it does. At the peak of his career, singer and lady-swooner Tom Jones was known for his beautiful chest hair. So he insured it for $7 million!

For a longer list of strange things people have insured, check out this infographic.

This infographic is brought to you by Budget Direct, an Australian insurance company that focuses on “cutting the cost, not the cover”.  House and contents insurance is one of the many things that Budget Direct excels at so be sure to check them out.

Tupac Vs. Eminem, Who's The Best Rapper?

The talk of which rap artist is the best of all time always lingers with arguments. The battle of who is the best rapper of all time usually comes down to Tupac and Eminem. If you don't know who these two rappers are, then you need to continue living under that heavy rock elsewhere.

The reason why these two rap artists are usually considered to be the two best rappers is due to their music portfolio, music ability, and their power of popular music. You can't really deny these two the fact of not being in the top five rappers of all time at bare minimum.

Why Would Eminem be Better than Tupac?

Lets look into the minds of those that think Eminem is the best rapper of all time ahead of Tupac. Eminem has more music for one. That can't hold much weight though, due to the fact of Tupac being murdered. This would disable him of having more music then he does. A bit of a pity appeal to that topic.. Though it holds weight.

Eminem has a larger fan base with more mainstream sounds in his music. This is a genuine argument as well. I do believe it to be completely true, but with Tupac's limited time alive.. Maybe he would have the same thing with the same amount of time in which Eminem has had. Still a tough one to push weight to.

Tupac Is The Best Rapper, Ahead of Eminem

The crowd of individuals that feel Tupac is the best rapper of all time is very prevalent with confidence. I understand the power in which he took rap music over was deceiving but I'm not sure that's enough evidence for me. The most common weight people push around is the idea of how he shaped rap music as a whole.

He brought new things to mainstream rap and hip hop. He was the most popular thing since sliced bread. Yes we're aware of that but does that make him the best of all time? It's a strong argument to push but I want more.

I'm a believer in the fact that Tupac's murder also pulls a pity roll in people remembering him during his era of popular spotlight. I like to compare or to Princess Diana's death. Everyone remembers that and how beautiful of a person we all remember her of being.

Still No Conclusion.. What the Heck

Long story short, there isn't going to be a right answer. Due to the argument being very opinionated, there will never be a correct answer. Hopefully we can just all argue violence free. Sometimes we all get pretty caught up in some of our very strong opinions. Keep thinking of valid points and we actually moght get somewhere with this arguement.

Stop the battling and start the loving. Alright, that's pushing it a little bit too far. We still love to battle about who is the best. Author Chris Weber is obsessed with rap battles like this one.
